Best Places to Find Cheap Bridesmaid Dresses
Wedding seasons is upon us, which means lots of booze, dancing, and dress shopping. If you’re a bridesmaid, you feel the pain of dress selection significantly more than the regular wedding guest –both in your head and your wallet. While you’re happy for your friend and excited to be a part of their special day, you’re more than likely not so excited about having to spend hundreds of dollars on a dress — or, conversely, if you’re a bride buying your bridesmaids dresses you don’t want to have to spend an arm and a leg to make sure your girls look good. But bridesmaids dresses don’t always have to be expensive. You can actually get high-quality, gorgeous, cheap bridesmaid dresses for reasonable prices — you just have to know where to look. Lucky for you, I have all the answers to your prayers. Here are seven sites that provide you with the perfect blend of style and affordability.
Amazon
Ever Pretty Women’s Long Evening Party Dress | Miusol Women’s Sleeveless Maxi | Tngan Bridesmaid Chiffon Long Evening Gown
I know, surprising! Amazon would’ve never crossed my mind as a source for bridesmaids dresses — and I also never would’ve imagined they’d have the largest selection of cheap bridesmaid dresses on this list. But when you think about it, that makes sense. Amazon is a hub for pretty much every type of product, so why wouldn’t they have an insane selection of cheap bridesmaid dresses as well?
With more than 20,000 dresses to choose from, you’re bound to find a dress that is both stylish and affordable. Not to mention the fact that Amazon is one of the most trusted websites in the world, and their customer service is killer so if your dress happens to be the wrong size or you change your mind they’ll make corrections quick and painless. The price of these dresses widely differs so you’ll be looking at everything from $700 to under $25 — just set your price range filter and shop away.
Forever 21
Soieblu Rhinestoned Gown | Pretty By Rory Flounce Maxi Dress | Soieblu Ombre Tulle Gown
We’re all familiar with Forever 21 — and if you’re not then you must quite literally live under a rock. We can all agree on two things about their clothing: one, it’s trendy and generally beautiful and two, it’s usually made from cheap-ish material and doesn’t hold up over time. So, for college students like me who like to cycle clothing, Forever 21 is perfect. However, for something like a wedding you’re going to want something a little more cosmopolitan and well-made.
I have to say, when my boss first suggested Forever 21 to go on this list I would skeptical — simply because of the quality of clothing I’d gotten from them in the past. But, Forever 21 sure did surprise me. After reading extensive reviews and articles, I’ve come to the conclusion that their bridesmaid dresses are, in fact, sexy, comfortable, and well-crafted. While these dresses are a little more expensive (ranging anything from $17 to $138) than their usual products, it shows in the material and composition of the dresses. If you’re looking for hip and hot cheap bridesmaid dresses then I highly recommend checking out Forever 21 — and as an added bonus they have stores everywhere so getting the dresses will be a breeze.
Modcloth
Genuine Grandeur Maxi Dress in Lilac | Beautifully By Your Side Maxi Dress in Stone | All-Around Lovely Maxi Dress in Blush
Modcloth has all the dresses for your vintage chic needs — and so much more. They’re also a little higher on the price side than brands like Forever 21, but you definitely get what you pay for. You’re looking at paying anything from $75 to $325 (although most dresses are between $100 and $200). The best part about Modcloth — aside from free shipping — is that their designs are always unique and funky. You can go onto the more mainstream sites and look at dresses that are virtually the same thing just different colors and prices, but Modcloth provides its customers with fresh variations of common styles. So, if you want your cheap bridesmaid dresses to stand out from the cookie-cutter sea of tulle and pastel colors, you should shop at Modcloth.
Lulus
Beauty and Grace Magenta Maxi Dress | Trista Grey Cutout Maxi Dress | Tricks of the Trade Taupe Maxi Dress
Speaking from personal experience, Lulus’ cheap bridesmaid dresses are the bomb.com. They’re stylish, refined, well-made, and overall high-quality dresses. I’ve purchased at least ten dresses from their site over the years and have never had a problem with fit or shipping — so you (more than likely) won’t have to worry about your packages running late or getting lost. Judging from my experience, I think that whichever dress (or dresses) you choose for your bridesmaids to wear will be just as fantastic and your experience will be just as breezy as mine has been.
While some dresses run on the pricier side of “cheap” — the most expensive dresses are around $300 and the cheapest $35 — most of the dresses are in the $100 to $150 range. If you’re extremely concerned about how the dresses will take wear-and-tear, I would recommend sticking with Lulu’s, Nordstrom, or Rent The Runway. With these brands, you’re promised the highest quality and will no doubt love whatever you decide on.
Windsor
Miriam Lady in Mauve Dress | Valerie Red Fiery Formal Dress | Tarryn Taupe Chiffon Chic Dress
While all the sites on this list have top-notch dresses for a reasonable price, Windsor definitely has the cheapest options — their prices are from $10 (on sale) to $249. For this reason, if you have a tight budget and want to spend your money elsewhere, look no further than Windsor’s bridesmaid collection (well, they don’t really have a specific section but pretty much all of their long dresses fit the category).
Windsor does have beautiful dresses, and their quality is comparable to Forever 21, but if you’re going to want to use this dress on multiple occasions I would suggest another site (or store) such as Lulu’s or Nordstrom. But aside from that, these cheap bridesmaid dresses are comfortable and range from boho vintage to sophisticated woman. Regardless of your individual style, Windsor is bound to have something that will both please your eyes and your wallet.
Azazie
Azazie Adriana | Azazie Arabella Allure | Azazie Kaleigh
Wow, Azazie’s cheap bridesmaid dresses are literally color heaven. Imagine over 30 different color options for every single dress on a site — then go to Azazie and watch it become reality. With so many colors to choose from, you can be unique and rock your own style without having to compromise on look or price. Speaking of price, Azazie’s dresses are also some of the lowest priced — ranging anywhere from $89 to $159. You seriously can’t beat their selection and price, so get the best of both worlds and purchase your cheap bridesmaid dresses from Azazie this wedding season.
Rent the Runway
Laundry by Shelli Segal Metallic Cross Knit Gown | Marchesa Notte Metallic Floral Cocktail Dress | Halston Heritage Red Meaghan Gown
Rent The Runway has a fairly self-explanatory title, but basically with this site you’re able to rent extremely nice dresses, for either four or eight days, for a fraction of the retail price. This would be perfect for someone with expensive taste but little money to spend. On the low-end, a dress will cost you $30 to $45, and on the high end, a dress will be about $190 to $210.
There are a few downsides with this site that I feel I should caution you about, however. First of all, since you’re renting the dress and your rental is only a few days, if you end up getting the dress and it doesn’t fit or you just downright hate it, you’ll have to find another one which will more than likely end up costing you way more. Second, while you’re getting a nicer dress for a reduced price, you’re still paying just as much as you would if you just bought a dress rather than rent one for a short period of time. So you’re really paying a little more for these dresses than you would if you just purchased one and were able to wear it multiple times. But overall, Rent the Runway is a great option for cheap bridesmaid dresses if you don’t want to spend a good chunk of change on a designer dress but still want to look fab.
