The number one key to success in any job is not hard work and a can-do attitude — it’s snacks. If you don’t have snacks then your work ethic is shot and your hanger will kill your positive vibe. Having a stash of snacks at your desk allows you to refuel without interrupting your workflow, and of course the healthier the snacks, the better! Unlike highly processed, pre-packaged Little Debbies, healthy snacks keep you satiated, give your body the nutrients it needs, and help you fight off those dreaded pounds.

Here are our top picks for the best healthy snacks to keep at your desk and in the office fridge (make sure your name is written on them though because these things are too delicious to share).

1. ONE Bars

10 Healthy Snacks for the Office

Granola bars, protein bars, and all other snack bars make the world go round. We all reach for them on the days when we’re too busy to even think ahead to meals. The majority of the bars on the market (and provided at the corner stores, gas stations, and in your company snack supply) are super high in sugar, preservatives, and a slew of other stuff. In fact, a lot of protein bars are lower in protein than you realize. This is why it’s a really good idea to have some truly nutritious ones on hand.

My favorite of them all are ONE Bars. Each bar, regardless of flavor, has just one gram of sugar and 20 grams of protein! That means you’re actually eating something that’s good for and will keep you satiated until you can sit down to a full meal. ONE Bar also has 13 flavors, and I can personally attest to their deliciousness.

The bars are dense (a.k.a. filling) and has amazingly true flavors. You should definitely try out the cookie dough, Almond Bliss, Lemon Cake, Peanut Butter Pie, Chocolate Brownie… actually just try all of them.

2. KiteHill Yogurts

One of the healthiest snacks you can keep on hand is yogurt. Almond milk yogurt is even healthier, plus it’s safe for those following a dairy-free or vegan diet. The thing is that not all almond yogurt tastes very good, so it can be hard to find one you like. Fortunately, I did the taste work for you and can confidently confirm KiteHill’s yogurt is d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s. It’s smooth, rich in flavor, and such an easy afternoon snack or last-minute office breakfast.

Another bonus is the variety of flavors. Instead of just vanilla, strawberry and blueberry (all of which they have), there’s also key lime pie, peach, pineapple, plain, and plain unsweetened. All of the flavor bases are covered!

Pro tip: make sure you label your KiteHill yogurts if you’re going to keep them in the office fridge because people will definitely try to steal some of these babies.

3. Daily Greens Half Pint Juices

Hellooooo, Dragon Power. Seriously, this hot pink drink was so good I Snapchatted about it. I’m slightly upset that I didn’t, in fact, turn into a dragon or even Khaleesi, but it was still delicious. The green one (aptly named Green Thing) was actually much tastier than I expected it to be (the green juices of my past have left me a little jaded). Nonetheless, I was ashamed of myself for letting the majority of it sit in my car when I ran into the grocery store after only taking a few swigs. Rookie move, Terra. Rookie move. My final sample was the Carrot Kick juice. I was nervous about the flavor (because carrots, you know?), but the coconut water and apple juice inside made it so tasty. It’s right behind the Dragon Power for me.

What I particularly like about the Half Pint Juices from Daily Greens is that they aren’t huge. I’m pretty much addicted to drinking water, and most cold-pressed juices are way too large for me to reasonably drink in one day. These are small, so they’re easy to add to my lunch box and finish in the ten minutes before I rush into a meeting. Bonus: they’re small enough to hide way in the back of the office’s community fridge so no one will find them and drink them. Negative bonus: you might forget you’ve stashed them back there.

4. Nomva Smoothie Packs

Smoothie packs aren’t just for kids, you know. Nomva makes delicious, nutritious smoothie packs that are ideal for the health-centric working woman. These aren’t just the usual smoothie packs, either. They aren’t packed with unhealthy preservatives, sugar, or flavors — it’s all organic, vegan, and gluten-free so you can sip away without any guilt.

Nomva’s smoothie packs are so much more convenient than making a smoothie at home and packing it. They come in a convenient pouch with a lid, are small enough to fit inside any bag you take to work, and can be grabbed even when you’re in the most manic morning rush.

5. Rhythm Superfoods Kale Chips

Okay, don’t make fun of me, but I was a kale chip virgin before trying these. From what I had heard, kale chips were insubstantial, boring, and essentially became powder on your tongue. I hadn’t heard anything positive about the baking process either. You’re right in assuming I was misled — at least when it comes to these kale chips.

I tried both the Kool Ranch and Original Recipe kale chips from Rhythm. I was so surprised to see how large the individual chips were — they were thick and kind of huge in size. This was nice because it was easy to get them out of the bag and I didn’t feel like I was eating crumbs. Another huge bonus for me was that both of these flavors are dairy-free, aka lactose-intolerant safe.

Even more surprising? The creamy taste of both. The Original flavor is made with tahini, which lends a rich, creamy flavor, and the Kool Ranch really does taste like cool ranch. Of the two, I preferred the Original, but that’s because I’ve never been a fan of cool-ranch-flavored anything. But my coworkers said it was a good flavor if you like cool ranch.

These are great office snacks because they’re not susceptible to becoming quickly stale like normal chips and, of course, they’re better for you to snack on. You still have to be careful, though — kale is high in calories.

6. Peace Cereal

Sugary, processed cereals aren’t the best for you, but the organic cereals by Peace Cereal make a filling, nutritious snack or meal when you’re in a pinch at the office. With several flavor options, like Vanilla Almond granola and Purple Corn Flakes, you can easily find a flavor (or two) you like. Peace Cereal has both organic and Non-GMO Verified cereals, so you don’t have to worry about consuming dyes or artificial flavors.

By pairing your preferred flavor with organic milk or nut milk or even yogurt (it goes perfectly with KiteHill’s plain and vanilla flavored almond yogurts), you can put together a healthy snack for any time of the day. If you find yourself swamped at lunchtime or having to stay late, it also makes for a filling meal. It’s always best to be prepared for those days by having something on hand.

7. Züpa Noma Chilled Soups

You know how it can be such an inconvenience to carry soup with you to work? It seems like no matter how new or “spill proof” your plastic ware is, it always leaks out and into your bag. And don’t even get me started on finding a good, healthy soup from a restaurant or cafeteria. You’re never really sure just what they put into the soup, and if you have food allergies, sensitivities, or restrictions, this is a major issue. Lucky for us soup-lovers, there’s Züpa Noma and it’s delicious.

Züpa has six tasty, healthy flavors and they all come in a conveniently sealed bottle. Plus, they’re chilled so you can actually sip soup on your commute without fear of spilling it in your lap, and you don’t have to wait forever in the office microwave line. Win-win, my friends.

These soups are all dairy-free (holla to all my fellow lactose-intols), vegan, gluten-free, and additive free. And let me tell you, you can taste it in the best way. It’s clear from the first sip that these soups are good for you — there’s no weird aftertaste from unknown ingredients, and it tastes like you just threw those veggies in your own juicer after picking them from the garden yourself. The flavor combinations are amazing as well. No matter your preferences, there’s a flavor for you. My personal favorite is the Organic Tomato Gazpacho, but to be honest they are all such a welcome change from the usual sugary office snacks I have to eat.

8. High Brew Cold Brew Coffee

Coffee tends to be hit or miss, and when it comes to office coffee it’s a 100% miss (at least in our office). So what’s an under-rested, professional woman supposed to do? Well, if you’re financially responsible you probably refuse to spend $5 on a small coffee every single day — so that only leaves one option: bring your own. If you don’t want to be super wasteful by using K-cups, then High Brew is an excellent solution.

If you like cold brewed and iced coffee, then grab one of the delicious flavors from High Brew and throw them in your purse on your way out the door. There are multiple flavors, like Mexican Vanilla, and even a dairy-free flavor aptly named Black and Bold. You don’t have to worry about carting around cream and sugar because High Brew has enough flavor on its own. These cans are small and convenient, easily stored in your cubicle drawers, and significantly more tasty than the burnt coffee sitting in the break room.

9. 4505 Chicharrones

Pork rinds might not be at the top of your list of healthy snacks, but they’re not as bad for you as you might think. In fact, they pack a serious protein punch which makes them a pretty good little office snack.

The flavors offered by 4505 Chicharrones are delicious too. They’ve got the Classic Chili and Salt, Smokehouse BBQ, and Jalapeno Cheddar, which is always a top contender. 4505 Chicharrones are gluten free and paleo friendly, so there’s really nothing to feel guilty about. They’re a tasty snack that will complement any diet or meal plan.

10. Pure Growth Organic Snacks

When it comes to finding organic, tasty snacks, it’s a bit like being a contestant on Fear Factor. You never really know what you’re putting into your mouth until you’ve tasted it. There are more brands out there than you can count. Luckily, there is one brand that you can always rely on to have delicious products that are good for you.

Pure Growth Organic sells several different products, from breakfast biscuits to cheddar popcorn, that will please even the pickiest eaters. Everything is Certified Organic, Kosher, and made in the USA. Thanks to the wide range of food items, Pure Growth Organic is an excellent one stop shop for your work snacks But beware: your coworkers are likely to try to steal some when you aren’t looking.
