Gift Ideas for the Literature Lover in Your Life
Now that the holidays are fast approaching (the countdown until Christmas is on!), it’s time to start your holiday present hunt.
Looking to wow the literature lover in your life with a more thoughtful gift than a Barnes & Noble gift card? Though any true book nerd wouldn’t turn down a trip to B&N, check out some more personal gift options that’ll make your book nerd glow with book-loving excitement.
Membership to a Book Club from Bookspan
Bookspan is basically Audible for physical books. You have your choice between clubs like The Literary Guild, The Good Cook, Mystery Guild, and Book of the Month Club. You’ll get credits each month, which can be exchanged for books of your choice, and then wait by the door for your books to arrive. It’s easy to skip or cancel whenever you like, so there’s no commitment if your book lover decides it’s not for them. But who doesn’t like getting new books every month?
Audible Credits or Membership
Speaking of Audible, if your book nerd prefers books on tape, an Audible membership (or credits, if they’re already a member) might be for them. You can listen from almost any device and stream it through your car for long drives. It’s especially fun to listen to full-cast audio books. I just started Tina Fey’s Bossypants, and it really adds something to the experience to hear the author read her own words (and jokes!).
Coffee Subscription from Bean Box
Bean Box has tons of monthly boxes to choose from if your book lover also loves to get a caffeine fix while they read. Go for Coffee of the Month or a Sampler Box and choose how many months you’d like to gift (keep in mind, certain boxes have different numbers of month for purchase). You may just be responsible for finding their new favorite bean.
Tea Box from Just Add Honey Tea Co.
If your book nerd is more into chamomile than espresso, then a tea box subscription might be more their style. We all need fuel to pursue our favorite pastime. Tea Box is one of the cheaper box subscription options on this list, and each box comes complete with a jar of sweet honey.
Something Yummy from Taste Trunk
If your book lover loves to chow down while they read (because let’s be honest, who doesn’t love to snack while they consume a good book?), then try a themed trunk from Taste Trunk. Filled with gourmet treats, select your trunk from options like Beer & Bourbon, Death by Chocolate, and The Gourmet Bacon Trunk. You can also custom make a trunk with handpicked goodies for a more personal touch.
A New Graphic Novel from Things From Another World Comics
If comics and graphic novels are your book nerd’s true passion, look no further than TFAW Comics. Whether you want new reading material or all kinds of fan merch, everything you’re looking for can be found under one domain name. A book lover’s bookshelves can never be too full.
Literary Merchandise and Apparel from Out of Print
The one-stop-shop for all your book nerd apparel and accessory needs, Out of Print even offers one-off book mail. Get your bookish friend something cozy to wear when they turn the next page or grab some merch from their favorite literary classic. I spent most of last December in my comfy Wuthering Heights sweatshirt.
Book-Themed Candles from Etsy
You can find almost anything on Etsy’s shops, including some awesome stuff for any book nerd. Take your pick from bookish necklaces, shirts, scarves, laptop cases, wall décor, and so much else. My personal favorite is the book-themed candles collection from Frostbeard Studios. Trashy Romance Novel has quite a zestful smell.
A Bookish Tote from Bookish Gifts
Surprise your book nerd with a new bag to tote their current reads around in. Bookish Gifts has a wide array of bookish gifts, hence the name. It’s similar to Out of Print but it doesn’t limit itself purely to books. You can also find jewelry, notebooks, and other merch from your favorite TV shows and genres.
A Transparent Bookmark from Amazon
The true tool of a book lover, a transparent bookmark allows for easy reading in all kinds of situations. It keeps your page and lets you read right through it. This one’s definitely going on my Christmas list!
