I signed up for Ipsy because it’s personalized—when you sign up, you take a quiz and tell them whether you hate nail polish or you prefer skincare over makeup, which brands you know and love, etc.—and the five products you receive each month come in an adorable Glam Bag. At just $10 a month, what more could you ask for?

Ipsy October 2016 Glam Bag Review

This is my second month as an Ipsy subscriber, and while I was pretty disappointed with my first Glam Bag, I am way more impressed with the October 2016 Glam Bag. Here’s the rundown:

The Products

After a very depressing first month with Ipsy, getting this bag was like finding an oasis in the desert. I was so excited to see only a facial moisturizer in my bag (the only skincare brand I initially okayed on my profile) and four makeup items. Even though I received two lip products, they’re very different from one another, and I use both pretty often. Blush and eyeliner are always something I can never have enough of, and that I use every day. Compared to last month, the October 2016 Glam Bag was definitely a step in the right direction.

The Ciate London Fierce Flicks Eyeliner is absolutely fantastic. I’ve managed the perfect wing every time, and it doesn’t smudge throughout the day — and bonus, it’s full-size! The blush from theBalm is amazing because it’s a perfect mix of tint and shimmer. The peachy orange color is perfect for fall, and it basically works as a highlighter as well. I loved the noyah Natural Lipstick because nudes are my thing, and it tints my lips for a few hours at a time so I don’t have to keep reapplying.

The INDI Beauty Buttercream Antioxidant Lip Scrub literally tastes like candy and is perfect for the chapped lips that roll in with the fall weather. The only product I wasn’t exactly crazy about (but didn’t hate either) was, surprisingly, the face lotion. I’m only hesitant to say that I didn’t like it because I noticed some clogged pores on my nose and forehead after two nights of using it, but it smells and feels wonderful.

The Value: $60 Total

The products in my bag totaled up to about $60 dollars. I was pretty pleased with that considering I only paid $10 and no shipping, and got a (super) cute little bag to keep. Honestly, with one full-size product and four sample sizes, I think Ipsy is a great deal.

The Verdict

I have to say that Ipsy redeemed themselves pretty well with the October 2016 Glam Bag. When I got my first bag, I really thought I was going to have to unsubscribe. Now, four out of the five products in my October 2016 Glam Bag are part of my weekly (if not daily) makeup routine. I absolutely love all the products, and I can’t wait to see what they send me next month. Ipsy is definitely gaining my loyalty.
