We’ve talked about hobbies here on Earn Spend Live a few times, and with good reason. We love hobbies and think you should actively pursue them with a take no prisoners attitude. Fear tends to stop most of us from pursuing those hobbies though; fear of sucking at them, fear of wasting money on just a hobby, fear of trying it and hating it—and then there’s the fear of wasting time because we’re too old to learn a new trick.

If the elderly can go to the gym and run in marathons, then you my twenty-something friend can learn to read music and strum a guitar.

And that’s where School of Rock comes in. School of Rock is a program dedicated to teaching children AND adults how to read music, play an instrument, and totally rock out. They have classes in states across the country, so it’s easy to get yourself to the class you want to take.

The adult program offers lessons in vocals, guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard, so you really can make your teenage dream of shredding like Lindsey Lohan in Freaky Friday a reality. There a band rehearsals and performances too – School of Rock isn’t just about learning. It’s about showcasing your new skills.

If you’ve always wished you had learned guitar or piano or even just how to sing on key, then School of Rock can help you do that. There’s no reason to give up on those musical dreams simply because you crossed into adulthood. Being an adult is pretty overrated anyway.
