The Erin Condren Academic Planner is all about school. And when we say it’s all about school, we mean there’s not a single facet of the planner that isn’t designed with students and their needs in mind. It doesn’t just follow an academic calendar.

With that kind of singular focus, there are going to be some major differences between this planner and the regular planners. The Erin Condren Academic Planner was designed to work for ALL students, from middle school/junior high through college. No matter your age or the age of the person you’re shopping for, this planner can provide a secure space to write down all class notes, due dates, and assignments.

Here’s what you need to know about the Erin Condren Academic Planner.

The Look

The Erin Condren Academic Planner is structured like their perfect-bound journals and not like the LifePlanner. It’s perfect-bound and smaller so that it’s easy to put into a backpack full of textbooks. Like all Erin Condren products, you have the option to personalize the planner and choose the cover design. The inside of the planner is colorful and has the same personality you expect from all Erin Condren products.

The Guts

As an academic planner, the layout of the pages and the features included are all devoted to school. This is a twelve-month planner, so there are monthly calendars throughout for you to use. This academic planner is dated, so you can start on the page that begins your school year. While you can write down major test dates, assignments, and vacations on the monthly view, there are dedicated detailed pages for that kind of information. You can also write down extracurricular activities here.

The weekly layouts are done in a horizontal layout, but instead of it having a blank box or a schedule, each day has a chart for classes that day. You write in the classes you have that day and whatever school work is due that day or assigned. You can include any extra-curricular activities that may be involved, and you can even prioritize your to-do list. This section will keep every day incredibly organized!

In what is perhaps the most academically specialized section of the planner, there is a tabbed section labeled Projects. These detailed pages allow you to easily keep track of daily assignments, write down due dates, and keep all upcoming deadlines in one easy-to-locate spot. You are able to list the class, describe the project in detail, and write down any other important dates as they come up. There’s also a handy-dandy little “completed” checkbox to give you that little rush of serotonin when you complete your assignment.

You also get a sheet of specialized stickers at the back of the Erin Condren Academic Planner. The stickers are rectangular and say things like “Test,” “Study,” “Paper Due,” “Read,” and “Vacation.” These are all meant to go in the monthly calendar so you can keep track of things from a monthly viewpoint. There are also a few blank ones you can fill in yourself as needed. In an academic planner like this, it’s helpful to have stickers in your monthly calendars so you can visually comprehend what’s on your plate that month.

Towards the end, the Erin Condren Academic Planner has 4 lined note pages. These serve as a place for you to jot down important information from class, like website logins and contact info for your classmates and teachers. And if you’ve forgotten your class notebook for some reason, you can use them to write down what your teacher says that day. These pages are perforated, so you can easily pull them out if you need to move them into that class notebook or share the information with a classmate.

Ideal For

If you’re a student in middle school, junior high, or high school, then the academic planner fills most of your needs—unless you’re a hardcore overachiever working a part-time job and participating in multiple clubs and teams—there are no special tabs for that. For college students, the Erin Condren Academic Planner should absolutely be used in conjunction with the LifePlanner, so you have a secure place for your class assignments, but also a place for your busy, busy life.
