As women in our twenties, we stay busy juggling career, relationships, social lives, finances, family, keeping pets alive, and trying to squeeze in hobbies like yoga, reading, or live-tweeting The Bachelor. We don’t always have a lot of extra time between our daily adulting duties, which is where Busy Beauty comes in.

Busy Beauty Showerless Shave Gel is literally made for the girl on the go. Here’s the three-step process: You 1) rub the shave gel onto the area you need to shave; 2) shave that area; 3) rub in the excess gel. And voila! You’re hair-free in just a couple of minutes — without ever having to step foot in the shower.

Busy Beauty Showerless Shave Gel is also cruelty-free, vegan, alcohol-free, and paraben-free. Plus, it’s made with natural essential oils like tea tree oil, eucalyptus, ginger, oat, and clove extracts. And MAJOR BONUS: It’s TSA-approved travel size, so it’s the perfect travel partner!

The Earn Spend Live team is made up of women with totally different lifestyles. Here’s how Busy Beauty Showerless Shave Gel fit into our daily schedules.

Elise

Busy Beauty is great for busy women, but it’s also really great for lazy women — of which I am both. I set my alarm for 6 a.m., press snooze for 30-45 minutes, then roll out of bed and into a 20-minute shower. But some mornings, when I’m running extra late, I straight-up skip the shower (I still take a whore bath, back off) — which sucks if I’m planning on showing a little ankle. So on days when I need an extra shot or two in my caramel latte just to get by, Busy Beauty Showerless Shave Gel came in handy so I could shave off (get it?) about 15 minutes from my morning routine.

I will say, however, that this is definitely not an everyday option for me. It’s definitely better than dry shaving (only psychopaths and Meleah do that), but it still burned a bit — even after I rubbed in some extra lotion on top of the gel. (Also, I definitely had to rinse my razor out after the first half-leg, so it’s not 100% water-free as promised.) That being said, I have extremely sensitive skin and get razor burn on the reg. I also went straight to a dog wash charity event after using the Showerless Shave Gel the first time, so my first impression was a bit skewed. BUT I would definitely keep this around to use in a pinch.

This thing is tiny but mighty. I had to give it at least 20 pumps to cover just the bottom halves of my legs (I told y’all, I’m lazy AF), and there was still more than enough for Meleah and Bri to test it out. Also, the packaging is really effing cute so I will definitely be toting it around in my weekender bag.

I’m going to start this review off with some honesty: I do not maintain smooth, seal legs. They’re more like hedgehog legs. Shaving is a chore, and a bore, and I just can’t be bothered to shave more than once a week. #Sorrynotsorry.

I was excited to try Busy Beauty’s Showerless Shave Gel because, without fail, there’s always some event or outfit that comes up and I have approximately 3.5 minutes to shave my legs on the way out of the house. Which is not enough time for a good shave. Sure enough, a few days after I got Busy Beauty from Elise, I was running late one morning, but I had a cute and comfy dress that I was really feeling. Enter: Dry shampoo and Busy Beauty. I fluffed up my pixie cut and set out to get some smooth legs from the knee down.

Busy Beauty Showerless Shave Gel An On the Go Essential

Overall, I was pleased with the shave. It’s leaps and bounds better than a hasty dry shave (aka guaranteed razor burn, ouch). That said, nothing is going to beat my usual exfoliate (with Soap + Glory’s Sugar Scrub) + shave + body butter routine.

I will not be throwing out my $3 can of shave gel from Target, but I’ll keep a package of Busy Beauty on hand for a couple of situations:

  • Midday desk shave: Am I the only person who can make it to lunch time and then see a GIANT patch of two-inch-long hairs that I missed when I shaved? I don’t currently keep shaving supplies in my desk, but because I keep supplies for any other situation, I really should.
  • Traveling Light: This stuff is in a teeny bottle, which makes it perfect for travel. Also it’s TSA-approved, baby.

Bri

The situation: I had just told a guy who was back from a trip that I was ~totally~ free to hang out and definitely missed him too. The reality: I had just gotten home and my room was a disaster of piles of clothes everywhere. What happened next? Of course, the inevitable text, “Great, headed your way!” This resulted in a few expletives before I went into super-cleaning mode (throwing stuff in my closet/anywhere not-visible). I applauded my efforts until I realized F! I reallyyy need to shave!!

Then I remembered…my Editor had handed me Busy Beauty’s Showerless Shave Gel to review. It’s an emergency–this guy’s abs are better than Zac Efron’s and I’m not exaggerating, but also he’s sweet and funny; it’s a truly dangerous, wonderful combo–so I grabbed it out of my work bag, rushed to the bathroom, and shaved away.

Honestly, this thing saved my life. Okay, that one might be an exaggeration, but it worked perfectly just when I needed it. Water isn’t necessary but I felt like it wouldn’t hurt, so I splashed some on my legs first. Also, I recommend shaving in sections so the product stays slick. I did the top of one leg, then below the knee, then switched legs. I smoothed on lotion afterwards which also isn’t necessary, but it’s a habit of mine and like I said, I wanted to be smooth af on this occasion.

Any busy girl needs this in her life. It saves you the pain of de-clothing and hopping in the shower when you’re in a rush, or gives the luxury of being able to shave when you aren’t near a shower. I plan on having this thing handy by keeping one in my car and one at home. Then no matter where I am or what plans pop up, I can have a quick, smooth shave. I even received a compliment that night on how soft my legs were, so thanks Busy Beauty — you’re the best.

The Verdict: Is Busy Beauty Showerless Shave Gel Worth It?

The Pros: It’s small and portable; quick and easy to use; cute AF packaging; cruelty-free, the works; TSA-approved and perfect for travel.

The Cons: It’s not as moisturizing or as waterless as promised; gel absorbs too quickly.

For the price, Busy Beauty’s Showerless Shave Gel goes a long way. It’s definitely worth the price to keep for occasions where you’re short on time or travelling.
