Single and ready mingle? Single and just looking to spoil yourself? The SinglesSwag box from Cratejoy ($24.99/month for the petite box and $39.99/month for the regular box) can help you out with either of those. It’s meant to add a little excitement, treat-yo-self, and life-improvement edge to your life.

Each month, you receive full-sized trending fashion accessories, organic bath/beauty products, artisan-crafted foods, and books on self-improvement and love, plus some surprise items here and there.

The Products

SinglesSwag: First Impressions

This was the first SinglesSwag box I’ve ever received from Cratejoy, and I wasn’t really sure how I felt about it, to be honest. I’m not one to feel like being single is an affliction that needs curing, but I pretty much live to spoil myself, so I was conflicted between being excited about new stuff and being wary of what was inside.

There are a few items I really love from the box. Namely the emoji stickers (can’t wait to stick them all over my editor’s desk when she’s not looking), the Fred Wine Lines (suddenly planning a wine night for 12 of my closest girlfriends), and I appreciate the Skinnygirl gummies because they do taste good. Since I don’t like gummy snacks in general, I plan to use them as bribe material in the office.

I’m not a fan of the book 121 First Dates (I’d rather read a book on career advice or a good murder mystery, personally) because, like I said, I don’t have a problem with being single. The lip butter was also not my color — I’m too tan for Barbie pink unfortunately, and I’m not much of a bracelet wearer, although I think colors of the bracelet are great.

The Value: $74

This SinglesSwag box was $39.99, which isn’t too pricey, and the value of all the items was $74. I’d say that’s a pretty good bargain financially. Since I’m not a fan of the majority of this month’s items, it’s slightly less of a bargain. This is just one box though. Other boxes would probably be a different story. I plan to regift a lot of the stuff (My niece will love the backpack!), so in the long run it’s saving me money. Holla.

The Verdict: Is SingleSwag Worth It?

Ultimately, I’d say it’s worth the cost. Three or four months in, you’ll have received several fun items that are simply fun to use and eat. Like all subscription boxes, there are going to be some items that miss the mark. That’s to be expected.

However, if you’re also vehemently anti-dating books, you’ll probably be disappointed in the books each month. I probably won’t have an ongoing subscription to SinglesSwag for this reason (I love new books so much that it’d just break my heart every time), but if you do enjoy dating books and don’t want to buy them in public this is a great option.

SinglesSwag does have some extremely fun items included, and if you’re curious about it, then I say go for it.
